Lovely, Love My Family by The Roots
One of the best things that happened to me when my one-year-old Briani was born was that her birth forced me to revisit all the kid-friendly channels and shows that I thought I wouldn’t be regularly seeing anymore. When my six -year-old Elena was a toddler, TV viewing was about Blues Clues, Sesame Street and Barney, all fine shows but none of which I think compares to my new favorite Yo Gabba Gabba.
If you haven’t seen Yo Gabba Gabba, you’ll think I’m crazy but it’s a great show for adults and if I had more time I would dare say I can watch it all the time. The program is not only a terrific treat visually-speaking but it’s also got great family-friendly music that is actually not tacky, predictable or nauseating. I’ve built a small but cool song collection with some of the tunes on the program, including my absolute, all-time family favorite, “Lovely, Love My Family” by a band called The Roots. You can get that song and my other major favorite “There’s a Party in My Tummy” on iTunes.
Do you have any family-favorite songs that are as catchy nice as these? Let us know. I want to add more songs to my iTunes family collection and I just don’t know where to turn to for songs that are both great for the kids and for adults.
