Almost exactly a year ago this week, the Miami Heat celebrated its first champion of the LeBron James Era. As sweet as that one was, this year’s win over San Antonio was sweeter because it seemed even more improbable. Ray Allen’s Miracle 3-point shot in Game 6 really became the clincher that changed our fortunes and for that we’ll be eternally grateful. My kids and I were just deliriously happy to see the Heat beat the Spurs and, of course, as we did last year, we did last night: we celebrated with our fellow riff raff in Hialeah.
This year represented the first time my daughter Briani went to a championship celebration so I’m hopeful that next year we’ll be joined by my 1-year-old Naomi (she was the first one to clang the pots following the Heat victory). Here are some more of the sights and sounds of our Heat celebration in Hialeah.
