PapiBlogger and Mamá Contemporánea Getting Set for National Launch of 2010 Holiday Gift Guide

PapiBlogger is interviewed today by Telemundo network for one of three national TV stories that will air about the 2010 Holiday Gift Guide over the next two weeks.

PapiBlogger and Mamá Contemporánea are getting set for the national launch of the 2010 Holiday Gift Guide this coming Tuesday.  Many thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors, including Fisher-Price, Baby Abuelita, Lowe’s, Kolcraft, George Foreman Evolve Grill and Sony.

My daughter Briani is appearing in three of the national TV stories scheduled to air. Here she is at the wonderful set up Fisher-Price did in Miami for the hot Christmas toy list.

We also want to give a special thanks to McDonald’s, who almost from Day 1 of PapiBlogger’s launch has helped make a lot of the content we produce possible, including this year’s Holiday Gift Guide.  An honorable mention also goes to Sprint.

PapiBlogger’s Kids Announce Winners of this Year’s PapiBlogger Halloween Kid Photo Contest Co-Presented by McDonald’s and Sony

My family and I want to thank all of you who participated in this year’s PapiBlogger Halloween Kid Photo Contest co-presented by our sponsors Sony and McDonald’s. My children, Jonathan, Elena and Briani poured through numerous photo entries and really enjoyed the process of using their critical thinking skills to pick this year’s winners.    In the accompanying, unedited video shown here my kids will explain how and why they arrived at their decisions. PapiBlogger announces winners of the ‘Guess the Final Mileage Contest’…Did you guess right?

The national contest asked PapiBlogger Facebook followers to try to guess the final total miles he and his family drove in their Chevrolet Traverse this summer during their epic 46 days and 33 states.

Epic 11,000 mile, 46-day, 33-state Family Road Trip Culminates Wednesday for PapiBlogger Family with Miami Celebration

Our family deeply enjoyed the insider's tour we got to the first McDonald's restaurant Ray Kroc owned and worked hard at to build into a global food leader.

SOMEWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES – After more than 11,000 miles, 33 states and 46 days, PapiBlogger’s epic family road trip will come to a rousing end with a celebration in Miami.

Sometime before 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday, August 4, PapiBlogger Manny Ruiz, his wife Angela and three kids (Jonathan 10, Elena 6 and Briani 1) will drive into Miami Lakes Chevrolet in their famous PapiMobile (aka 2010 Chevrolet Traverse) where they will be greeted by family, friends and reporters invited to attend the event.   (The dealership is located at 16600 NW 57th Ave., Miami Lakes, FL 33014).

“Our journey has been nothing less than astonishing,” said PapiBlogger Manny Ruiz.  “Everywhere we’ve gone people ask ‘How did you do it with three kids?’  ‘What’s the favorite part of your trip?’  ‘What did you learn about America?’  We’re eager to share those stories and more with the world.”

The PapiMobile left Miami on Father’s Day, June 20th on a route that took the family from Miami to Los Angeles, Los Angeles to Seattle, Seattle to Portland, Maine and Portland back to Miami.

The Improvise, Adapt and Overcome Trick to a 40-Day Family Road Trip

In 2007, Angela and I went on a two-week Christian mission trip to the African nation of Rwanda to take labor, love, medicines and other scarce resources.  Rwanda is where in 1994, over the span of just 90 days or so, nearly 1 million people were killed in what is considered the worst genocide since the Holocaust.

In preparation for that trip into a far and unknown land, the organizing pastor  told us that the most important thing we should do to mentally gear up for it was to remember the unofficial motto of the United States Marines: Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. (more…)

PapiBlogger’s 10,000-mile Epic Family Roadtrip Set for Father’s Day Launch

The 2010 Chevrolet Traverse has been chosen to be the epic roadtrip's "Papimobile"

In 1903, when the entire United States had but 150 miles of paved roads, Dr. Horatio Nelson Jackson set off from San Francisco in a 20-horsepower Winton touring car hoping to become the first person to cross the U.S. in what was then dubbed a “horseless carriage.”  Sixty-three days later, after many trials and tribulations, Dr. Jackson, his co-driver Sewall Crocker and their bulldog Bud made it to New York City.

More than 100 years later, a Miami family of five is about to embark on what might be this century’s epic U.S. family road trip.  Starting on Father’s Day, PapiBlogger.com founder and father of three Manny Ruiz, his wife Angela and their children Briani (1), Elena (6) and Jonathan (10) will embark on a 10,000-mile PapiBlogger Family Road Trip that will circle the four corners of the continental United States.
