Sprint Nexus S 4G from Google and Samsung, Kaldi espresso machine by The Coffee Bean & Tea Co., and Dell Inspiron M5030, make eclectic list of 2011 Annual Father’s Day Guide

MIAMI, FL (June 14, 2011) – Father’s Day is just around the corner so three leading Latino parenting bloggers, Manny Ruiz of PapiBlogger, Eva Smith of Tech.Food.Life and Brenda Cisneros of Mejorando Mi Hogar, have joined forces to launch their 2011 Father’s Day Gift Guide.

The guide features gifts for dad in a variety of categories and price ranges including Apps to help make dad’s life easier, as well as fashionable watches, outdoor grills and even grooming items.

The 2011 Father’s Day Gift guide, the first of what is to become an annual tradition, was compiled over several months with the input of other Latina moms.  It is available for free.

The Father’s Day Guide can be downloaded at: http://slidesha.re/kJ5cdr

“Dads are often overlooked in the Hispanic community so this guide is just one way we can show our fathers we love them,” said Ruiz who founded the annual guide.

From items to help dad unwind to items that will help him get into shape— here are a few of this year’s top picks from a list of over 20 gifts featured in the 2011 Father’s Day Gift Guide.

Baleadas and a Foot-stomping Great Time at Pro Soccer Match

I’m partial to NFL football and pro basketball but last night my wife, son and youngest daughter had a terrific treat viewing a pro soccer double-header in Miami courtesy of Sprint.  Whenever I watch a soccer match I always fear the infamous scoreless ties but there weren’t any of those last night.  In the midst of an electric, foot-stomping, flag-waving atmosphere Jamaica shut Guatemala out 2-0 and Honduras beat Granada by a whopping 7 goals to 1.

Honduras scores one of its 7 goals against Granada.

Thanks to Sprint, I’m Taking My Kids to Their First Pro Soccer Match Today

In case you don’t know this, being PapiBlogger is a lot of work but it has plenty of benefits too.

My friends over at Sprint just reminded me of this today with what I have to say is one of the coolest, most creative mailers I’ve received yet.  As part of a program that promotes Sprint’s Samsung Replenish smartphone, the first eco-friendly Samsung device powered by Android, I will be taking my son Jonathan and my youngest daughter Briani to their very first professional soccer match here in Miami: a CONCACF Copa de Oro doubleheader featuring Guatemala vs. Jamaica and Honduras vs. Granada.

In addition to this unique phone which features Sprint’s exclusive Lo2Yo Futbol and Green Sprint ID pack and which I will use to Tweet from the game tonight, PapiBlogger also got:

- A stylish Puma Messenger Bag

- A Copa Cuba 1980′s Retro Football shirt

- A Sprint Staineless Steel rubber grip water bottle

- A mini Sprint soccer ball

I haven’t been to a professional soccer match since I last visited Honduras in 1992.  My wife hasn’t been to one since she attended the World Cup in 1994.  Can’t wait to relive the power of our Latino soccer culture – pro-style!

I'll be using the Sprint Samsung Replenish Android-powered phone to tweet and document all of tonight's soccer match action.

DISCLOSURE: PapiBlogger received all of the items pictured here from Sprint but the views expressed in this post are entirely his own.

Who Can Say No To a Dog?

True story: I was having breakfast with my wife and some business colleagues at an outdoor South Beach cafe when a dog comes alongside our table carrying a blue bucket and plucks it right next to my wife, begging for money.

His homeless owner was on a bike nearby and has the pup trained on his command to carry that bucket table to table, all along the strip of cafes on South Beach.

Guess what?  We gave the pup a buck for creativity.  So did the patrons at the next table.
